Sharon is one our longest serving tutors, with several years of satisfied clients and outstanding testimonials to her name. Although she can also teach maths up to Year 6, Sharon specialises in English tuition in preparation for GCSEs or 'A' levels. She also has experience in teaching towards private school entrance exams. Such tutors are difficult to come by, so you are advised to book her early! Sharon tutors via online lessons.

Rachael currently teaches at a High School in Manchester, and has been personally recommended to us as an outstanding practitioner, with plenty to offer any children who are struggling to meet a particular target in English, or aiming for a certain grade at GCSE. She has bases in several areas so is willing to travel around Manchester, Greater Manchester or Bolton. Rachael has been teaching for several years, and specializes in improving the GCSE results for those children in Year 11 who are in particular need of a boost! For the past fourteen years, Sarah has taught English and English Literature at secondary level up to GCSE. Her enthusiasm and dedication have helped the department in her school to improve G.C.S.E results with 57.5% achieving grade C or above- a rise of almost a fifth on two years ago. Recently she's had further training and is fully versed on assessing progress without levels as well as the new G.C.S.E reform and the new grading scale. Sarah would make an excellent choice of English tutor!

Charlotte has a wide and varied bank of experience to draw upon: inner city High School English tuition; working as a targeted Support teacher; teaching children with special needs; teaching English as a second language; teaching in the government's one to one tuition programme. She is prepared to travel (in some cases) or teach from her home. Charlotte is one of our longest-serving tutors, and has been outstanding - taking students through SATS, through GCSE English and even through English Language A-Level.

Paul has over 20 years teaching experience in various settings - more recently at Wigan and Leigh College. He is able to teach students of any age up to Higher GCSE level. He was personally recommended by one of our established tutors. Having worked for Ash Tutors for several years, Paul has more than proven his skills, demonstrated in excellent testimonials and several long-term clients. But don't let his apparent 'laid-back' profile pic fool you, as he often says, "I'm the least photogenic person ever!".

Maisie has been teaching in a Manchester High School for 4 years where she has taught English in both AQA and Eduqas at GCSE level. She can also tutor up to A-Level. Her background experience includes working with children who have special educational needs, which gives her the full set of skills needed for one to one tutoring. She currently works with children who have various additional needs on a daily basis.

Melissa has been teaching English Language and English Literature in local High Schools for several years and has all the skills and experience to help children to achieve their learning goals. Melissa has particular experience with those children who struggle with English at secondary school, which makes her ideal in helping children to consolidate at their current level and then go beyond, with Year 11 target grades in mind. Melissa is very enthusiastic about English and is continually looking for new ways to engage struggling students in this subject.

Shelley has been teaching for over 25 years in various roles as a primary Deputy Head and formerly as a primary tutor here at Ash Tutors - where she was one of our star performers! For the past 7 years she's been teaching GCSE English in secondary schools, specialising in SEN, and helping Year 11s through their final exams. It's great to have her back!

Kirsty has been teaching English through GCSE up to A level for several years now in a local High School. She has a wide range of teaching experience across the whole secondary phase, and has successfully guided several Year 11 groups through their English Language and Literature GCSEs. Kirsty also has experience teaching children with a range of additional difficulties such as dyslexia, EAL and other specific needs. Kirsty is currently available to tutor at client's homes, her own home in Wigan or via online means.

Jack started his career as an English teacher back in 2016 and has worked with Ash Tutors since 2018. He has taught in several schools - gaining a broad spectrum of experience and currently teaches English full-time in a local High School. He is qualified to teach English Language and Literature through GCSE right up to A-Level - a rare find indeed! Jack is particularly interested in helping boys access the English curriculum, as statistically, boys struggle more than girls - something Jack is keen to address.

Jack has been teaching English in several High schools since qualifying in 2015, up to his present role as Deputy Head of English faculty where he teaches GCSE English and A Level English language. Jack has experience teaching right across the ability range, both with those aiming for high grades and also those who have become disengaged. Jack was recommended as 'brilliant' by one of our established tutors - so we're very lucky to have him on board!

Sue has a vast wealth of experience to draw upon - having taught in secondary and further education for many years. During this time she headed a department in English, and has been an official examiner for WJEC in the GCSE examinations. Sue has been graded outstanding by Ofsted and her last set of GCSE results were also graded outstanding in terms of progress made. If this isn't impressive enough, she can also teach AS and A2 Level Literature and Language (and Combined). In her most recent career development, she'll be teaching teachers at Edge-hill college!
